Review
In this case it is important to realize that the "doctor" is part of the emergency team and his role is to examinate patient, check his airway and fix the cervical spine.Patient with cannulated peripheral vein is intubated because of degraded state of consciousness and lack of spontaneous ventilation, artificially ventilated and transported to appropriate trauma center . These procedures very clearly demonstrate the clinical situation with the discussed possibilities of errors and correct choices. The algorithm brings us to the extreme case of impossibility of airway intubation with a need for coniotomy. This situation is indeed exceptional , but every doctor shoul be familiar with this life-saving procedure.
